Product is likely to assist in a project obtaining credits as it provides outside air to reduce the build-up of indoor pollutants. Credit points are achieved when the natural ventilation, mechanical ventilation or mixed ventilation mode of 95% of the Useable Area (UA) is in accordance with specified codes.

IEQ-2: Air Change Effectiveness

Product is likely to assist in a project obtaining credits when it is or is used as part of a system that delivers clean air to provide high indoor environmental quality. Credit points are achieved when 95% of the Useable Area (UA) meets the criteria for air change effectiveness in mechanically ventilated buildings naturally ventilated buildings or mixed ventilation mode.

IEQ-3: Carbon Dioxide Monitoring and Control

Product is likely to assist in a project obtaining credits by providing a means of carbon dioxide monitoring and control when implemented within a system designed to satisfy the relevant mechanical and/or natural ventilation criteria.

IEQ-4: Daylight

Product is likely to assist in a project obtaining credits by contributing, when appropriately designed in combination with other materials/elements, to a Daylight Factor of not less than 2.0% in accordance with the prescribed requirements. Credit points achieved are determined by the percentage of the Useable Area (UA)with the above defined Daylight Factor.

IEQ-5: Daylight Glare Control

Product is likely to assist in a project obtaining this credit as it meets the prescribed glare control requirements as either a fixed shading device or occupant controlled automated blinds/screens. Credit point is achieved where fixed shading devices are fitted to each typical glazing configuration and meet the prescribed requirements, or occupant controlled automated screen/blinds are provided by the base building; connected to a Building Management System (BMS); have a Visual Light Transmittance (VLT) of less than 10% and are fitted with manual overrides are fitted.

Product may contribute as an individual component, in combination with other suitable components, in achieving an Internal Noise Level that complies, in whole or in part, with the prescribed requirements.

IEQ-13: Volatile Organic Compounds: Carpets and Flooring

Product is likely to assist in a project obtaining a credit point as it meets the prescribed Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) emission standard for carpets. To achieve the credit point all carpets (or resilient floors) used in the project must be in accordance with the prescribed standard. To achieve the credit point where no carpet (or other VOC emitting flooring) is installed, flooring must be shown to be low-VOC in accordance with the prescribed emission levels.

Product is likely to assist in a project obtaining credits as it meets the prescribed standards for formaldehyde emissions for engineered wood products. Products with formaldehyde emissions of less than or equal to E1 are compliant with this credit. To achieve the credit point all engineered wood products used in the project must be in accordance with these requirements.

Product may offer an alternative to composite wood products and assist a project in obtaining maximum IEQ-14 credits for containing no formaldehyde.

IEQ-15: Mould Prevention

Product is likely to assist in project obtaining this credit as it reduces the possibility of mould growth, thus reducing the instance of the associated occupant health impacts. Credit point is achieved where the building is naturally ventilated or where humidity is regulated by the mechanical ventilation system to be no more than 80% relative humidity in duct work and no more than 60% humidity in the space.
