Emi-2 Note 1: Refrigerant GWP

Product is likely to assist in a project obtaining credits as it contributes towards refrigerants which do not contribute towards global warming from emissions of refrigerants. Credit points are achieved where either one of the following is met -50% of HVAC refrigerants have a GWP of 10 or less, no refrigerants are used, building is naturally ventilated or building is MANV.

Product may contribute as an individual component, as a refrigerant with GWP of 10 or less.

Emi-3: Refrigerant Leaks

Product is likely to assist in a project obtaining credits as it contributes towards building systems design that minimises environmental damage from refrigerant leaks. Credit point is achieved where HVAC system containing refrigerants are contained in a moderately airtight enclosure and a leak detection system is installed to cover high risk parts of the plant.

An additional point is awarded where the above is met and refrigerant recovery system is equipped with a automated pump down system and can safely capture, isolate and store 95% (by weight) of maximum refrigerant charge.

Emi-3 Note 1: Refrigerant Leaks

Product is likely to assist in a project obtaining credits as it contributes towards building systems design that minimises environmental damage from refrigerant leaks. Credit point is achieved where HVAC system containing refrigerants are contained in a moderately airtight enclosure and a leak detection system is installed to cover high risk parts of the plant.

An additional point is awarded where the above is met and refrigerant recovery system is equipped with a automated pump down system and can safely capture, isolate and store 95% (by weight) of maximum refrigerant charge.

Product may contribute as an individual component, in combination with other suitable components, in contributing to leak detection systems and/or pump down systems.

Emi-5: Watercourse Pollution

Product is likely to assist in part or in combination with other products to a project obtaining credits by minimising stormwater run-off to, and the pollution of natural watercourses, in accordance with the prescribed requirements.

Points Available

3

Emi-6: Discharge to Sewer

Product is likely to assist in a project obtaining credits individually or in combination with other products in a project achieving four credit points by minimising discharge to the municipal sewerage system for occupant use against a ’best practice benchmark’. Points are awarded by the percentage reduction against benchmark in accordance with prescribed requirements. An additional point is awarded where a blackwater treatment system is used in accordance with prescribed requirements.

Emi-7: Light Pollution

Product is likely to assist in a project obtaining credits as it helps minimise light pollution of the night sky. Credit point is achieved when no external luminaire has an upward light output ratio that exceeds 5% and lighting design complies with AS 4282 Control of the Obtrusive Effects of Outdoor Lighting

Points Available

1

Emi-7 Note 1: Light Pollution

Product is likely to assist in a project obtaining credits as it helps minimise light pollution of the night sky. Credit point is achieved when no direct light beam is generated from within or outside building boundary, path of direct light’s angle of incidence directed to the sky is obstructed by a non-transparent surface, lighting design complies with AS 4282 Control of the Obtrusive Effects of Outdoor Lighting and 95% of outdoor spaces do not exceed minimum requirements for AS1158 for illuminance levels.

Product may contribute as an individual component, in combination with other suitable components, in providing lighting which complies with AS 4282 Control of the Obtrusive Effects of Outdoor Lighting and for AS1158 for illuminance levels.

Points Available
